Think about it, do you want a fish that's been exposed or is carrying KHV? It's easy to find out if the fish was exposed using serology, in which we look for ANTIBODIES which they develop against the KHV virus during exposure. We will collect a red top serum separator tube with 1-2 ml blood from living fish. You have to send us EXPENDABLE LIVE FISH or HAND CARRY LIVE FISH to us. We return NO FISH!

We will collect samples from your living or freshly sacrificed fish and record the examination, internal examination, and make careful notes regarding the autopsy and then send the organ tissues we collect from stem to stern for histopathology (microscopic examination)

Histopathology - Samples KoiLab Collects

Send us a live fish, or one that has died in the last couple of hours only, we will concern ourselves with the speedy and aseptic collection of fresh tissue from sacrificed fish, we will collect a sample of liver, kidney, spleen, gill, intestine, heart, gonad, etc and submit for histopathology in 10% buffered Formalin.
